Many things catch my eye. At home I’m drawn to the play of shadows on a wall, leaves distorted behind obscure glass, layered architectural shapes, strong texture against empty space.
When I walk through town everything I see has potential: bright orange stucco walls, the levee banks and the bridge, an old grey cactus leaning against a building.
My paintings, design work, architectural color consultations and photography are all influenced by the same things–what I see around me, the subtlety or strength of the color, strong shapes that push the tension or find a type of balance.
